Located in the Texas countryside, this custom fourty by fifty foot (40'X50') barndominium combines modern farmhouse styling with practical design and durable construction. Finished in a striking matte black exterior with Alamo trim, the home has a bold, timeless appearance that fits beautifully into its surroundings.

More importantly, every detail was designed with the homeowner's lifestyle in mind.

Prairie View Barndo Built for More Than Everyday Living

One feature that makes this project unique is the homeowner's passion for big game hunting.

During the framing process, we installed custom blocking throughout the home exactly where the homeowner wanted it. This allows trophy mounts to be securely installed later during the interior finish out without requiring additional structural modifications.

It's a small detail that most people will never notice, but it's exactly the kind of planning that makes a custom home truly custom.

Rather than simply following a set of plans, we worked closely with the homeowner to make sure the structure would support their vision for years to come.

Strong Framing Creates a Better Home

Although the interior finishes will be completed later, every quality home begins with a solid structure.

For the Prairie View Barndo, we focused on building a durable shell that provides strength, energy efficiency, and flexibility for the future.

The home features 2" by 6" exterior wall framing with 7/16 inch ZIP System sheathing installed on both the walls and roof, creating a strong and weather resistant building envelope.

Inside, the layout combines standard flat ceiling areas with beautiful scissor trusses over the main living room, creating an open, vaulted living space while maintaining efficient framing throughout the bedrooms and remaining rooms.
