Red barn under construction with three men outside, JD Construction trailer, and a metal roof in a rural field.

"Working alongside Ben was a true collaboration. He brought an incredible appreciation for traditional barn design, and together we were able to merge those historic features with the durability, longevity, and weather resistance of modern metal siding and roofing."

Old Charm Meets Modern Durability

Some projects stand out because of their size, while others stand out because of their character. The Bee Barn, affectionately nicknamed the "Wrangler Joe" is one of those projects that perfectly blends old charm with modern durability.

Nestled in the rolling Hill Country outside Rogers, Texas, this 30 by 50 foot barn was built for a hardworking family and good friends of ours at Respite Bee Farm.

From the beginning, owner Ben had a clear vision. After spending months studying historic barns, he wanted to capture the charm and craftsmanship of traditional agricultural buildings while incorporating the strength and low maintenance benefits of modern construction.

The result is a barn that feels as though it has been part of the Texas landscape for generations.

The Bee Barn - "Wrangler Joe" a Design Rooted in Tradition

Built with 10 foot walls, a 7 over 12 roof pitch, and a functional loft space, the Wrangler Joe combines practicality with classic proportions.

One of its most distinctive features is the crow's beak detail on each gable end. Paired with 18 inch overhangs, this architectural element creates the unmistakable silhouette of a traditional barn and gives the building its unique old world character.

The crow's beak is truly what defines this structure. It is a subtle detail, but one that immediately catches your eye and evokes the craftsmanship found in historic barns across the country.

Bringing the Vision to Life

Projects like this remind us that the best builds are often the result of a shared vision. The Bee Barn - "Wrangler Joe" is when craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and quality materials come together, the result is something far greater than just another building.

Built for Today and Tomorrow

The Bee Barn is a perfect example of how old and new can come together to create something special. It honors the past while being built to serve future generations.

But this project is not finished yet.

In the next phase, the Wrangler Joe will receive additional upgrades including a wrap around porch and expanded covered storage areas beneath a rustic metal roof. These final touches will add even more functionality while enhancing the timeless character that makes this barn so unique.
